My deep desire is to help you to realize that you can't keep waiting
until you feel like forgiving someone to do it. Forgiveness and
love are not based on feelings, they are based on a decision.
When you choose to forgive someone who has hurt you, it will benefit
you much more than it will ever benefit them. Be smart enough
to stop hurting yourself after someone has hurt you, learn to
let their offense go. Make the decision to forgive them and then
immediately lean on God for the grace to do it. Go to God and
say, "God, as an act of my will, I choose not to be offended,
but I need your help! Please heal my wounded emotions and give
me your grace and power not to give into my desires to ignore
and mistreat this person. I choose to walk in your love. Thank
You, Lord, for giving me the power to do what is right and see
victory in my life!
I encourage you to choose to let every difficult person and situation
make you better instead of bitter. Although people and circumstances
may not change, but we can. Through God's grace, you and I can
grow to the point where we are so mature in Christ that nothing
disturbs our peace within!
In His Service,
Michael Rivera
